For extreme applications, we use high-strength steels like NM500 and Hardox® 450 to ensure long-lasting performance.
WA1200 Loader Bucket in Copper Mine
A leading copper mine in Asia required a loader bucket for their Komatsu WA1200 wheel loader to increase loading efficiency and withstand high abrasion from ore handling. Origin Machinery designed and manufactured a fully customized WA1200 bucket with reinforced structure, side protection plates, and a heavy-duty base edge system.
After installation, the bucket achieved over 8,000 hours of continuous use without major structural wear or failure. Compared to the mine’s previous bucket—which required major repairs every 4,500 hours—our solution reduced maintenance frequency by 45%, resulting in an estimated cost saving of $35,000 per unit annually. The client has since placed repeat orders for additional WA1200 buckets.
